The importance of IT governance has received increasing attention in the recent years. \r\nExtensive literature addresses top management and organisational issues of IT governance. \r\nHowever, recent findings suggest that people issues in IT governance equally deserve \r\nattention. Guided by the Theory of Planned Behaviour, this study examines the influence of \r\nIT practitioners and management guidance on the extent of their participation in IT \r\ngovernance initiatives. A quantitative study was conducted among IT practitioners in \r\nMalaysia. Data analysis using Partial Least Squares suggests that subjective norms and \r\nperceived behavioural controls on IT practitioners result in greater participation in IT \r\ngovernance initiatives. However, attitudes do not have significant relationship with \r\nparticipation in IT governance initiatives, in contrast with prediction of the theory. Further \r\nanalysis reveals that awareness and perceived importance of IT governance are the two \r\nmost important factors from the practitioner perspective. As for management guidance, \r\norganisational processes and reward system are the most important, closely followed by \r\norganisational structure. The findings reaffirm that IT governance requires control in the \r\nform of organisational structures, processes, goal settings and reward system to encourage \r\ndesirable behaviours in IT governance initiatives....
The paper has been intended to analyze trade of flowers in Romania. The study was focused on \r\ndynamics of the supplier countries for importations and destination countries for exportations. In \r\norder to design a framework for the international trade there have been assessed several indicators. \r\nFurther, highlighting the trade of flowers sector, we have chosen to pay attention on the average rate \r\nof growth and links among trade figures from data series of the four main categories of flowers. This \r\nwas done on destination countries and the countries suppliers for the products come from. The data \r\nhas been provided by the National Statistics Institute (INS), and the Ministry of Agriculture in Romania, \r\nand has spread over a period of 10 years, starting in 2002. The results have shown that among the \r\nvariables analyzed, it was detected an active trend. According to the correlation coefficients, it was \r\nstated that pairs of variables analyzed are relatively strongly correlated. The variables that have \r\nshowed no significant correlation coefficients were the exchange rates for the two main currencies \r\n(Euros and the American dollars). The conclusions were that there are real connections among the \r\nconsidered pairs of variables, except the exchange rates which have had their own dynamics and their \r\ninfluence was not found on the other variables analyzed in this study....
Understanding migration and fertility issues would be very relevant in the context of changing demographic \r\ndimensions between developed and developing countries, in particular differing age structure of the populations \r\nbetween them. As the developing countries have opportunity for potential demographic dividend due to increase \r\nin the supply of labour force, the developed countries would be facing a shortage of labour force and health care \r\nburden for old age people. Further, this phenomenon will have repercussion with respect to movement of people \r\nfrom developing countries to developed countries and flow of economy at the global level. At the county level, \r\ninterregional migrations seems to be increasing due to demographic diversity within the country. Rapid urbanization \r\nin the developing countries is another challenge due to rural-urban migration. Therefore, the migratory movement \r\nwill have greater effect on the future population changes not only within the country level, but also in both developed \r\nand developing countries and more so depends on the fertility behavior of the migrants. All these phenomena will \r\nhave implications on the social and economic dynamics both at the local and global level. The purpose of this note is \r\nto review main theories on the relationship between migration and fertility and their empirical evidence....
In pursuit to sketch the Pakistan USA Exchange Rate patterns for the duration of 1991M3 to\r\n2010M5 using the CHEERS model, the role of Goods Market and Financial Market is\r\nimplied through the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) and Uncovered Interest Parity (UIP)\r\nrespectively. The results using Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) revealed that both\r\nParities work in combination with near unity elasticities to explain the motion of Exchange\r\nRate in Long Run, but it showed very slow degree of convergence (around 3 and half years)\r\nto this equilibrium path after any shock....
The Internet and the Web continue to evolve at a rapid pace where the Internet as the medium\r\nfor the Web to provide and share information to global users without boundaries. This has\r\ncaused the information systems change from standalone desktops to networked systems in\r\norder to effectively utilise the Web-specific characteristics for easy access to information\r\nanywhere. For this reason, the development of such information systems particularly the ebusiness\r\napplications would need to change from traditional development method via software\r\ndevelopment life cycle to new development methodology through web development life cycle.\r\nThis new development methodology has been widely used and recognised due to its focus on\r\ndeveloping business applications reflecting the nature of the Web. This paper presents a\r\ncomprehensive review of related literature in which the web development life cycle that\r\nconsiders the unique and special requirements of developing web-based applications with\r\nsuccess factors, is more effective compared to the traditional software development. The\r\nreview findings are taken as a basis for conducting case studies to investigate any issues and\r\nchallenges from the perspective of web development team....
